Susan Scott-Parker OBE, is internationally recognised as a spirited and creative thought leader on how to mobilise business leadership behind the economic and social inclusion of people with disabilities worldwide.
She has made a career from challenging outdated assumptions regarding both disability as it affects business and the potential of responsible business to adapt respectfully for human reality.
She is the Founder & Honorary Vice President of Business Disability Forum (BDF), the world’s leading national business/disability network, and is now starting up business disability international (bdi) with Barclays, GSK, Infosys and Bupa. Under her leadership BDF pioneered the world’s first Leadership Development Programme for persons with disabilities and the first corporate Standard to measure the disability related performance of an entire business.
Susan ‘invented’ the concept and language of ‘Disability Confidence’ – in the knowledge that if we can change the way people talk about the world, we make it easier to change the world. She continues to build innovative institutions which connect sectors and leaders who would otherwise rarely meet – with a particular focus on enabling new conversations between business leaders and people with disabilities as opinion formers, customers, colleagues, potential colleagues and fellow citizens.
